The cutting edge geometry and final dimensions of the PCD tools are usually ground on CNC tool grinding machine. However, ultra-hard tools with polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting edges pose a challenge for grinding. In fact, grinding a PCD tip with the hardest diamond grinding wheel takes a lot of time and loss of grinding wheels.
